our team

Emanti have compiled a team having leading specialist skills in water, sanitation and environmental services and associated planning, excellent working knowledge of local, provincial and national government in South Africa and beyond, and strong IT tool/system development, implementation, operation and maintenance skills. The team provides specialist resources and leading sector knowledge in the following subject and skills areas:

Strategy and plan development

The water and municipal sector is challenged by resource limitations, infrastructure challenges, service delivery limitations, and institutional capacity gaps. To ensure continued and sustainable service delivery it is essential that enabling and protecting strategies and associated plans are developed. This requires critical knowledge and insight in specific topics together with an integrated view of the past, current and future development scenarios.

Training and mentorship

Assist client staff and stakeholders to grow and learn through involvement in the specific tasks, participation in and facilitation of meetings and workshops, provision of business and technical advice, etc. The team works in close cooperation with staff and, importantly, specifically includes the mentoring, skills development and support of increased internal capacity. Close cooperation ensures that skills and knowledge are transferred throughout the project period.

Tools and guidelines

Develop, implement and roll-out practical tools and guidelines within the municipal services sector, and train stakeholders in the use thereof;

Data facilitation and support

Maintain and enhance knowledge partnerships, improve and implement data acquisition and clearing processes, enhancing existing databases and information systems, and improve information sharing in the sector;

Knowledge creation and management

Develop knowledge products to facilitate knowledge creation in the sector and provide consensus views;

Our Team

Grant Mackintosh
Grant is the Managing Director and the driving force behind Emanti. Grant holds various degrees from Cape Town: BSc (Eng) in Civil Engineering, Post Graduate Diploma in Engineering, MSc in Engineering, and an MBA (achieved Cum Laude) at the University of Stellenbosch. Grant is an active sports man, enjoying jogging and cycling (completed the Cape Epic in 2008) in his spare time.

Mziwabantu Ramba
Mziwabantu joined Emanti Management as a Director and Board Chairman at the company inception in 2003. He, however, started working full-time for the company at the beginning of 2004. Mzi brings invaluable abilities, experience and skills to Emanti which he gained from many years in the construction and water industry. As a young man Mzi participated passionately in rugby, boxing and table tennis. His participation is now limited only to games of chess, checkers and table tennis.

Wendy Johnson
Wendy brings with her over 20 years of experience in the office administration and Personal Assistant arenas in both big corporate and SME environments; including being a semi-finalist in the 2014 South African PA of the Year.  Wendy is also a qualified Nursing Sister, having done her training at Tygerberg Hospital. Although she has not practiced nursing for many years now, there is still a strong connection to caring and helping others.  She is passionate about Mother Nature and is fortunate to have green fingers and a wonderful way with all animals.  Wendy has a wide variety of interests and enjoys spending her free time outdoors, and with her family.

Thabisa Manxodidi
Thabisa obtained her National Diploma in Chemical Engineering (2000) and B Tech (Chemical Engineering) in 2001 at Peninsula Technikon. She joined Emanti in 2004 and completed her B Eng Honours (Water Utilization) at the University of Pretoria in 2008. Thabisa enjoys the outdoors (hiking and jogging), Stage Theater and family time (with my daughter).

Matthew Damons
Matthew Damons has an MSc Environmental and Water Science through the University of the Western Cape (UWC) (2018), “An assessment of the contributions of surface and subsurface flows to river flows of the Sandspruit River in the Berg River Catchment, South Africa”. He was been appointed as an intern through the WWF-SA Learnership Programme. Since the completion of the learnership programme, he has been employed on a full time basis at Emanti. Matthew enjoys hiking, reading, swimming and watching movies in his spare time.

Environmental and water Scientist

Wade Barron
Wade Barron is an Environmental and Water Scientist with several years of experience in the water sector. He has worked on several projects for Local government and has gained municipal exposure, technical and communications skills. Academic qualifications include, BSc Hons Environmental and Water Science and a BSc Environmental and Water Science from the University of the Western Cape.
